Parking Lot Asphalt Crack Repair

Moisture getting into asphalt through small cracks is the most common sign of damage. This can be fixed quickly and cost-effectively. In Edmonton, cracks tend to start small due to the freeze-thaw cycle. When moisture seeps into these cracks, it causes damage to the layer beneath the asphalt and leads to more extensive damage.

To fix this problem, the first step is to clean the cracks of any dirt, moss, or debris. Wire brooms, revolving bristle heads, and blowers are used for this. Then, DuraFill, a hot-apply, rubberized crack filler, is used to fill the cracks. Cold-apply products are not as effective. The substance is heated to around 400 degrees to ensure a perfect connection and surface smoothness. After pouring the substance into the crack, it is torched, cooled, and solidified to seal the crack and prevent moisture from getting in.
